Using NS Chat
Commands, keyboard shortcuts, chat channels and display options.
Commands with or without “/”
Players can type commands with or without the leading /. The input shows when the line is a command. To send a line as a normal message even though it matches a command, press Ctrl+Enter.
Keyboard shortcuts

Command suggestions
As you type, NS Chat suggests matching commands with their parameters. Players only see commands they are allowed to use.
Chat channels
- OOC – a separate global out-of-character chat. Staff can turn it on or off live, and players can hide it.
- Job chats – private chats for each job, plus job announcements.
- Admin chat – a staff-only channel.
Which channels exist and who can use them is set in the configuration.
Character ID
/cid shows your character ID and copies it to your clipboard.
Visibility
Each player chooses whether the chat stays visible, fades after a while, or stays hidden.
Discord logs
OOC, job chats, admin chat and announcements can be logged to Discord through ns-lib.
